                Aelfgythe Border Morris

Aelfgythe are a Women’s Border Morris side based in Alvechurch.
Our name is taken from that of which Alvechurch derived.
( For more information see the Aelfgythe History page. )
We dance in black and silver rag jackets, and top hats decorated
with feathers,
badges, sequins, mirrors, flowers and ribbons.
The first official performance was on Wednesday 3rd December 2008
dancing at the Weighbridge in Alvechurch. Consisting now of about
18 female dancers and 8 female and male musicians we hope to make
an impact on the folk scene attending folk and dance festivals
and hope to bring a new twist to Border Morris.

We are always interested in recruiting new members
who can bring musical talent to the side and those who
just fancy having a go at  clashing sticks and learning our dances.

If you are interested in joining
please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
