  ÆLFGYTHE BORDER MORRIS

ÆLFGYTHE are a Women’s Border Morris side based in Alvechurch.
Our name is taken from that of which Alvechurch derived
(for more information see the "Aelfgythe History" page).
We dance in black and silver rag jackets, our top hats are decorated
with: Feathers, badges, sequins, mirrors, flowers and ribbons.
The first official performance was on Wednesday 3rd December 2008
where we danced at The Weighbridge in Alvechurch.
Consisting of around 10 female dancers and 5 female and male musicians, we continue to make an impact on the folk scene by attending folk and dance festivals whilst bringing a new twist to Border Morris!

We are always interested in recruiting new members
who can bring musical talent to the side and those who
just fancy having a go at clashing sticks and learning our dances.
